Kellie Garcia Bunting, B.Sc., A.Ag., EP
Director/Environmental Scientist
Kellie has a degree and diploma in Environmental Science and more than nine years experience and training in the environmental field. She specialises in assisting multi-stakeholder committees with the preparation of management plans, sustainability documents, and best management practices guides. In 2005-06, she coordinated the 26-member volunteer advisory forum for the Cowichan Basin Water Management Plan project, co-authored the management plan, and assisted with the public outreach and consultation program. In 2008, she was the lead technical writer who worked with the Okanagan Water Stewardship Council to produce the Okanagan Sustainable Water Strategy.
She is currently the project manager for the BC Sustainable Winegrowing Program and works closely with a volunteer committee of wine grape growers, winemakers and winery hospitality managers to develop and implement the program. Ms. Garcia is a strategic thinker with a proven ability to translate ideas into clear, concise and effective strategies and programs. She has earned the respect of her clients by consistently providing high quality work on time and on budget.
Jose Garcia Batres, B.Sc., P.Ag.
Director/Environmental Scientist
José is a Director and Environmental Scientist at Insight. He holds an Environmental Science Degree and an Environmental Engineering Technology Diploma. He is a registered member of the BC Institute of Agrologists (BCIA).
José has experience in planning, implementing, managing and delivering environmental projects, writing reports, and analyzing documents for a variety of clients including Crown Corporations, First Nations, and the private sector. He has years of experience in data collection, sample design, and scientific reporting for a variety of parameters in drinking water, groundwater, wastewater, surface water, soil and air. He also has drafting experience using AutoCAD for marine, residential, commercial and industrial applications.
José is currently working on his Masters of Applied Science degree at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan), where he is researching energy production from winery waste streams using anaerobic treatment processes.
